50. Two cards are
dealt face down and four cards face up, an interval of betting taking
place after each up card. The seventh and last card is dealt face
down ("Down the River") followed by the fifth and final
interval of betting.
51. At the showdown any five cards of the seven can be used to make
up the best poker hand. The pot can also be won unseen, of course,
in any betting interval.
52. Two cards are dealt face down and three cards face up, an interval
of betting taking place after each up card.
53. The final two cards are dealt face up or face down according
to whether a player uses them to replace an up or a down card. A
player may stand pat at the sixth or seventh card. If he stands
pat at the sixth he must also stand pat at the seventh card. An
interval of betting takes place after the sixth and seventh cards
have been given or offered. There are therefore five intervals of
betting, and each player who reaches the showdown will have two
hole cards and three up cards.
